Lundqvist, Staal and Stepan prepare for All-Star...
Whilst most of the New York Rangers organisation will be resting their road-weary bodies through the All-Star break this weekend, the same cannot be said for Henrik Lundqvist, Marc Staal and Derek Stepan. The trio, three of the teams’ most important pieces this season, will all be headed to Raleigh, North Carolina to take part in the All-Star game festivities Friday through Sunday.

Rangers topple Devils, roll into new year.

Rangers gain point, lose shootout.
Ryan Malone beat Henrik Lundqvist in the 11th round of an epic shootout to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night. Malone beat Lundqvist high glove side to end a game that’d see-saw’d back and forth throughout the night. Derek Stepan tied the game at 3 late in the third period, beating Lightning goaltender Dan Ellis at his near post with a nifty drag...

Recap; Gaborik return sparks Rangers.
It may only be four games, but Marian Gaborik’s return to the New York Rangers line-up has clearly given the Blueshirts a much-needed boost. Through those four games the Rangers are 3-1, with a one-goal loss to the Boston Bruins last night the sole blemish on a strong run for the team.
The Rangers have had to do without Gaborik for the best part of a month after he was checked shoulder-first...

Ryan Callahan scored the game-winner in overtime as the New York Rangers won their third straight game and their first ever in Pittsburgh’s new Consol Energy Center. Derek Step-an down?
The re-emergence of Marian Gaborik for last nights 3-2 overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres undoubtedly comes as a huge shot in the arm for a Rangers squad desperately short of goals so far this season.

Artem Anisimov snapped a 10-game goalless streak as he scored twice in the Rangers 3-2 overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres last night.

Rangers find identity in absence.
The past two weeks have offered an intriguing insight into just what the future New York Rangers may look like. Besieged by the kind of injuries that’d passed the Blueshirts by in seasons past, the Rangers young core of Ryan Callahan, Brandon Dubinsky and Marc Staal were asked to lead the team forward minus the likes of Marian Gaborik (separated shoulder), captain Chris Drury (broken finger)...

Rangers fall as special teams falter.
Another game, another 5-on-4 winner. It’s become commonplace for the Rangers in an already young season to see their special teams units falter; in a 3-1 defeat to the Colorado Avalanche last night the Blueshirts extra-man corps went a miserable 0-for-5, whilst the penalty kill delivered an even more embarrassing 0-for-2 ratio behind a pair of Chris Stewart strikes.
The Rangers penalty kill...

Blueshirts lick wounds, fall to Leafs in overtime.
And so it begins. The most concerning factor for the New York Rangers following last nights 4-3 overtime defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs will be the long-term injuries sustained by captain Chris Drury and top goalscorer Marian Gaborik.
Drury, 2 periods into his return following a pre-season shot-blocking incident that lead to a broken index finger, ironically managed to fracture the same...

It was shaping up to be one of those games for second-year defenseman Michael Del Zotto after an early giveaway led to Ilya Kovalchuk’s opener for the New Jersey Devils last night.
